You know what I love? When people randomly start bitching about deviantART and how its run. You know why? Because THEY ARE COMPLETELY RETARDED TO BE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT.

Here are some of my favorite dA-loathing comments, as well as small things I wanna add. Just 'cause.


deviantART does not like [insert certain style of art]! What jackasses!
Okay, first off, every category has someone bitching that they're not recognized. Whether you're a fan artist, an anime artist, a photographer, a poet, a writer, a cartoonist, a sculptor... Whatever it is, it has nothing to do with the fact that deviantART is "against your style." deviantART is not holding you down, man. So, not everyone likes yaoi, or fetish photography, or anime, or cartoons, or poetry. Well, not everyone likes broccoli, but they still grow it. And you should grow up.

deviantART makes you pay to get the best out of it!!
Wah. Cry a little harder, you damn baby. Seriously, its a few bucks a month to get some more thumbnails, and no ads on your page. deviantART does not punish non subscribers. You can still sell prints, browse deviations, and upload your work without restriction. Oh, by the way, you do that all for free. On 02/04/2k8, deviantART is just shy of 50,000,000 deviations. Do you know how much space that fucking takes? Seriously?! And how much bandwidth?! So naturally, they've gotta make their money somewhere. I'm a _proud_ subscriber, and I love the perks I get. I don't have to look at advertisements. I get to put CSS in my journal, and link thumbnails. I can opt to be a beta tester. And its for a few bucks a month. (Which is substantially less than paying for a lot of things, phone bills, online MMOs, etc etc). If you don't have the money, or you don't want to pay, you're not getting "jipped" out of anything that stops you from getting more page views/friends/comments or whatever it is. Quit your bitching.

Oh shut the hell up. People are going to upload what they want to, when they want to, and as much as they want to. You bitching doesn't change anything. Just don't look at it. They're _thumbnails_ until you click on them.

OMG DID YOU SEE [link to an 'inferior' piece of art (and here is my favorite example of this argument [link])] HOW COME THEY GOT SUCH HIGH PAGE VIEWS AND GOOD ARTIST DON'T?!
First off, don't be a dick to the 'inferior' artist. That pisses me off more than anything. Secondly, we know the "good artists" you're referring to is just a thinly veiled reference to you. Jealousy is an ugly thing, and you're being petty. Let the person have their own moment, and just get over yourself.

I don't like the daily deviations!
Then suggest ones you do like. I'm not saying they're going to get picked, but its better than just bitching about how you hate them. And thats another thing. Stop and think about what you're doing when you bitch about the daily deviations. You're being really rude to people who get them.

... Thats like saying "I hate it if people really like my artwork, but don't kiss my ass and tell me HOW MUCH they like it." Get over yourself. Jeez.

I love deviantART. I do. It is my favorite website, hands down. And it has been, since I joined up in early 2003. However, I'm getting a little sick of people coming in and finding reasons to bitch about it the whole of how its run. Sure, there are daily deviations that I don't agree with. And yeah, I don't like a lot of the art that goes around. But guess what? I know there are people out there who do like that stuff. And I can respect that.
